Welcome to the Orchestro documentation guide. This guide will help you get started with Orchestro, a network that connects regional carriers to provide national-level shipping solutions.
Orchestro is a national carrier network made up of individual participants, functioning as one through unified data exchange and standards. It enables regional carriers to increase their footprint without the burden of additional assets required for expansion.Orchestro provides brands and shippers with a high value alternative to the national carriers with the convenience of a single contract, integration, and invoice. The network integration with Warehouse Management Systems, Order Management Systems, Transportation Management Systems, and even Rate Shopping Engines provides enhanced access to data.
Orchestro starts by onboarding participants. These participants include shipper, carrier, last mile carrier, and middle mile carrier. Participants initiate shipments after successful onboarding. Orchestro sends shipment information and creates a manifest. The manifest is a document that details the shipment, including items, destination and, other relevant details of the package. Orchestro sends this manifest to carriers involved in the shipment.
Carriers update Orchestro with tracking events using their native codes. Orchestro maps the codes, stores events in the database and distributes to the network members.
