List of Supported Network Service Types
Orchestro supports multiple service types within its Open Parcel Network (OPN). The primary service types include:
Code | Description |
---|---|
GRD | This service is specifically designed for ground delivery, ensuring shipments are facilitated within predefined timeframes (3-7 days). The GRD service uses a network of regional carriers to provide broader, nationwide coverage by routing parcels through multiple carrier networks. It is scalable, cost-effective, and optimizes resource utilization through regional partnerships. |
DGRD | This service involves national carriers such as UPS and DHL. Unlike GRD, where parcels are handed off between multiple carriers, DGRD uses a single carrier for the entire shipment journey. It typically offers a longer delivery time (around 6 days) but provides simpler, streamlined logistics without complex multi-carrier coordination. |
RETURN | A national carrier (currently UPS MI) return service that allows shippers to set up predefined return logistics for undelivered packages. |
These services offer various surcharges, such as fuel surcharges, delivery area surcharges, non-standard package fees, and more, depending on the carrier agreements.
